Halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, the Coffs Coast is an easy family holiday and a natural stop on an east coast road trip. It is about 540 km (around 6 hours) north of Sydney and 390 km (around 4.5 hours) south of Brisbane.
Families come for the patrolled beaches, the Big Banana, dolphins and whales, rainforest walks in Dorrigo National Park and a relaxed pace that makes a holiday with kids feel like a holiday for the grown-ups too. Our holiday home in Boambee East puts you right in the middle of it, 6 minutes from Sawtell Beach and 8 minutes from Coffs Harbour.
Our Boambee East holiday home is set up for families:
It is in a quiet residential street, 6 minutes from Sawtell Beach and 8 minutes from Coffs Harbour.
Whether it is a week of school holidays, a long weekend or a night or two on a road trip, our Boambee East home gives your family room to relax between beach days. Self check-in from 2pm means you can arrive at your own pace after a long drive.
Boambee East is quiet and leafy, with Boambee Creek Reserve nearby for picnics, fishing and paddling on calm water. Bongil Bongil National Park has easy bush walks, and Toormina Gardens shopping centre is close by for groceries, so you do not need to drive far for supplies.
Valla Beach is a quiet village about 25 minutes south of the house, with long, uncrowded beaches and a small local shopping village. It is a lovely spot for a relaxed beach day away from the crowds. As always, check conditions and swim at patrolled beaches when you can.
Sawtell is 6 minutes away. The main beach is patrolled in season, Bonville Creek at the southern end of town is popular for a paddle, and the headland is a great spot to look for whales from May to November. Fig-lined First Avenue has cafes, gelato, restaurants and a local cinema for a rainy afternoon.
Coffs Harbour is 8 minutes away. The Big Banana Fun Park has a water park, toboggan rides and mini golf, Dolphin Marine Conservation Park is a hit with kids, and the walk from the Jetty out to Muttonbird Island has whale views in season. The North Coast Regional Botanic Garden is good for a picnic, and Park Beach is patrolled all year round.
